Things to do at the Mui Ne sand dunes

Mui Ne's sand dunes are two separate places, not one. The White Dunes sit inland near Hoa Thang, a proper desert-like expanse; the Red Dunes lie right by the coast road close to Mui Ne village, smaller and more compact.

They are often shown together on tour flyers as if a single stop, but there is real driving distance between them, and travellers who expect one site end up rushing the other. Both are reached from Ho Chi Minh City on the Phan Thiet coast road, in the same trip that covers the Fairy Stream.

Buggy and ATV operators run at both dune fields, but the vehicles, routes and operators are not interchangeable between the two.
