Things to do at Phu My cruise port

Phu My is the deep-water port where cruise ships calling at Ho Chi Minh City actually dock, roughly two hours from the city centre by road, and it is not Vung Tau: the two sit on different stretches of coast and put passengers ashore at different points, so a shore excursion booked for one will not collect you from the other.

There is little to see at the terminal itself beyond port infrastructure and the approach along the river; almost every passenger boards a coach straight to Saigon, to Cu Chi, or to the Mekong Delta rather than staying near the dock.

Because the transfer alone can run close to two hours each way, it sets a hard limit on how much a single call can cover, whatever the ship's timetable in port allows.
